A little history
- 1929The Corbins flour mill. Milling here goes back to the 18th century. In 1929 the mill is built as it stands today, using the drop of the canal that runs between Corbins and Torrelameu: a turbine drives every machine by belts, in a building of a basement and three floors. The venue itself, “La farinera” (its blog, 2014); Bodas.net, “Historia”.
- 1980The mill falls quiet. By 1980 the machinery had become obsolete and the industry closed. The venue itself, “La farinera”; Bodas.net, “Historia”.
- c. 2000It opens again. Twenty years later restoration work began, to open this corner of the land’s heritage to the public. The mill keeps all its parts, from the pipes that carried the wheat to the machines, and can be visited. The venue itself, “La farinera”; Bodas.net, “Historia” and “Otras instalaciones”.
